Tulip Flower Festival 2021 - Amsterdam
The Tulip Festival is an annual event in Amsterdam, that welcomes the new spring season by celebrating their iconic flower - the tulip. I found out about this event when, in university, we had to develop an entire visual identity for a festival of our choosing, therefore, we were responsible for creating a large number of graphical elements and having in mind their purpose in each situation.
The main reason for choosing this particular festival was because of its graphical potential. I was inspired by each tulip's many colors and how they could be implemented in my project.
The whole concept could be summarized by wanting to bring more of a fresher and lighter side, more playful with colors, and through textured illustrations, use the tulips as a reocurring decorative element.

The posters were the first ones developed. Besides the tulips themselves, I also illustrated the seeds, the bulbs, the anthers and head of pistil, to bring more life to the composition.
When creating the logotype, I concluded that it would be more beneficial to have a typographical logo, instead of an icon, because otherwise, I believed it would fight with the illustration, especially due to them being so prevalent.
Another factor was the name itself. I debated quite a bit on this, but in the end, I changed it to ‘Our Flower’ because it seemed to generate an idea of national pride, for this iconic flower.

Calendar for 2021
Illustrations and highlighted dates are all focused on each month’s primary activities dedicated to the tulip flowers, be its harvest or even contests associated with them, after blossom season.
