Nomad Collectors

For this project, I created a hypothetical small business, which had to go through all of the necessary points such as having the concept of the store, keywords, moodboards, target audience, how it differentiated from the competition, the story of the owner, and much more, similar to how we would structure the meeting with a future client and after be able to develop a strong brand identity.

Nomad Collectors was the brand I created. The owners were a married couple who were avid travelers for most of their life and they considered themselves nomads. After a long period of being on the road, they craved having a base in Portugal (their home country) and begin a small shop/bar that would inevitably become a space where they could share and display precious things they’ve collected throughout the years. The shop/bar would become a place for travel enthusiasts, where people could mingle, share, and trade experiences.

The concept for the logo was formed by focusing on the word ‘nomad’ and ending up researching the style of cave paintings.

Our ancestors being the truest nomads, it fit perfectly with what I wanted to achieve for the brand. The cave paintings were a great inspiration and were where I derived most of the style from.

The final outcome was bringing one of the pre-historic animals, which was also known for being constantly on the move, and having it reinterpreted in a more contemporary lense, with cleaner lines but adding some texture and imperfection to have a worn-in look, conveying authenticity and lived experience.
